Daytona 500 Results 2011

Here are the very latest results from the 2011 Daytona 500, held February 20, 2011.  The Daytona 500 is one of the most popular races of the year, and it’s the first major event of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Budweiser Shootout

Kurt Busch won the 2011 Budweiser Shootout, held the week prior to the Daytona 500. An invitation-only Sprint Cup event involving 12 drivers, it serves as an exhibition and warm-up event for the season.

2011 Nationwide Series

The Nationwide Series Daytona race, DRIVE4COPD 300 (120 laps, 300 miles), starts at 1 pm EST on Saturday, February 19.  Danica Patrick is scheduled to race in this event.  In her 2010 NASCAR debut, Patrick exited the Nationwide Series race after a 12-car crash halfway through the event.

2010 Daytona 500 Results

Jamie McMurray won the 2010 Daytona 500, followed by Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Greg Biffle, Clint Bowyer, David Reutimann, Martin Truex, Jr., Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards, and Juan Pablo Montoya.  The winner’s purse was $1,508,449.  Joe Nemecheck, who finished last, took home $261,424.
