
The Kobalt Tools 400 is the third major race of the NASCAR Sprint Cup season, following two weeks after the Daytona 500 and just one week after the Phoenix Subway Fresh Fit 500.
Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, Tony Stewart, A.J. Allmendinger, and Jeff Gordon are the current points leaders in the Sprint Cup Series, followed by Mark Martin, Bobby Labonte, Ryan Newman, Juan Pablo Montoya, David Gilliland, Paul Menard, and Carl Edwards. Jimmie Johnson is just out of the top 12 at number 13.

Jimmie Johnson won the Las Vegas Shelby American in 2010. He drove a Chevrolet and took a purse of $405,628. It was his fourth Sprint Cup win in ‘Vegas, including three in a row, from 2005 to 2007.
